Hi, I'm Abigail Reder. Single mother to Rosie, founder of Rosie Red Nest, and author of Joy Follows. Our life changed overnight in 2024, and we've been rebuilding it and reclaiming our joy ever since. Slowly, intentionally, and on our own terms.
I spent my career helping children thrive, first as a 3rd and 4th grade reading teacher, then as a behavior therapist for children with autism. Now I use those same skills raising Rosie in a home that's peaceful and safe. When I'm not writing, I'm an advocate for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.
Rosie Red Nest is the space I needed two years ago and couldn't find.
I write unfiltered essays about motherhood and rebuilding. I do the obsessive research so you don't have to. And I hunt down the beautiful things that don't break a budget: things I truly use and love, or have researched so deeply I'd trust them with my own daughter.
Perfectionism doesn't live here. Unfiltered motherhood does. The messy and joyful parts in equal measure. We don't wrap things up in a pretty bow around here, but we do find ways to bring more beauty and peace into our lives. Just honesty, real solutions for busy and overwhelmed moms, and a standing reminder that it gets better. It does. I'm living proof.

Joy Follows: Seven Paths Back to Yourself
On July 31, 2024, I left my marriage at two months pregnant. On July 31, 2026, I published my first book.
Joy Follows is part memoir and part guided journal: the seven practices that helped me rebuild my life and find my way back to myself. Seven paths. Every one of them walked first.
I wrote it for the woman I was two years ago, and for every woman who is her right now. It is the closest I could get to reaching out a hand, helping her up, and telling her that wherever pain may lead her, joy follows. It always does.
